WOW....Carne Burrito is all beans, overpriced and very disappointing..dont go!
Very good Mexican food, fair priced and large portions
Great food.
All time favorite! Great food, great flavors, not what you would expect! Taquitos, nachos, and the way I judge a Mexican place, rellenos!
MoreThe restaurant is closed now but they had the biggest plate of fully loaded nachos for $7.00. It often fed 2-3 of us.
MoreFast yummy and cheap we go here alot
One of my favorite Mexican food spots. Great food at great prices and really nice staff.
MoreExcellent food. As good as it was in their Provo locations. Glad we found them again. Very authentic.
MoreBest beans ever! I get the smothered bean burrito with sour cream every time and it's always great! The staff is also very friendly.
MoreI went there last night and got a carne asada burrito for about $6 which was mostly rice and beans. I also got my friend a cheese quesadilla which ended up costing 5 BUCKS!!! It was just a folded tortilla with a two finger wide line of cheese in the middle. The service is usually friendly and the salsa bar is good but the actually food quality for the price does not even out.
MoreAlways have my perfect comfort food: bean and cheese burrito. It's always hot, it's always delicious, and there's always good company
MoreHad a carnitas buritto. ALL the meat was burnt or over cooked! As I was eating the burrito I kept chomping on tiny rocks not a pleasant surprise and not good for your teeth. My wife grew up working in a Mexican restaurant so she knows good mexican. She ordered two soft and a hard shell taco. The hard shell was store bought and stale. The soft tacos were wrapped like burriots and messy. The pico was nasty the oinions tasted bad. Plus we both felt really sick afterwards for the rest of the day. I Would srongly recommended staying far far away from this place!
More(edit / update: they are now permanently closed. I have cried myself to sleep so many times.)The most amazing tacos!! Be sure to get a bag of chips and fresh salsa, yum!
MoreGreat Mexican restaurant. I love three tortas, soft tacos, burritos, and nachos. So much too eat. Can't go wrong.
MoreHonestly, I didn't want to post a review at all because I like that this place is my little secret. The food here is consistently great, the service is unparalleled, and those chips and salsa get me every time! My favorite is the soft shell corn tacos with shredded beef, but I've eaten other dishes here, and they've all measured up. Please consider adding a location in Salt Lake County!
MoreGreat staff, great selection, seating is fine, food is delicious, some plates could use more food but generally it's a good bang for your buck place.
MoreI love their enchiladas and my husband said they have great tacos. Authentic northern Mexican cuisine - yum!
MoreNachos are an excellent value.
Best Mexican for over a decade of my life. This place makes simple and satisfying Utah Mexican favorites. Inexpensive classics: burritos, tortas, quesadillas, tacos with a magic salsa bar of variety and goodness. Flan, fried ice cream and churros. Always good, always satisfying. Order a lot or a little, you'll be glad, it is real food that both tastes good and makes you feel good.
MoreI really enjoy their food I will miss them
I've heard a lot of good things about El Azteca and I have had a lot of Mexican food as I lived in Mexico for quite a while. I had the carne asada tacos. The carne was cut too large and did not seem like the right cut of meat. The tacos were ok, the pico tasted old, and the sides were fairly unimpressive.
MoreIt's closed down now and I'm so sad!!
Fantastic Beef Tacos!. The beef is full of flavor, and the cheese, vegis and salsa are always very fresh. But what really makes them is the double restaurant made shells. They are awesome!. They also make a great chimi. The service is always good, and the establishment is always clean.
Morewhen we lived in Orem, this was a good place to stop, and he food is good, however don't confuse this location with The Original in Provo...
MoreOne of my favorite places to eat in Orem! I've never had anything on the menu that I didn't like!! Definitely recommend.
MoreWe come here often and I always get the beef nachos...best in the county in my opinion.
MoreGreat hole in the wall Mexican food! Authentic tastes, very generous portions, you get a lot for just $2.50. The carne asada is to die for. Customer service is nice, the food took a little bit bit it was worth the wait!
MoreDisappointing. The first time I had the salad, which was really big but not worth the $9. I then tried the fish tacos and they really were amazing for $2.79 each. The flan was homemade and the bomb. They were authentic.Unfortunately, the second time I came back, they were made by a bunch of white gals who didn't know what they were doing. Yuck. Covered in oil and not to mention were missing key ingredients like the cabbage (they used lettuce and there was no sauce) the pieces of fish were tiny and were barely worth bothering to eat, more batter than fish. Why the change, I don't know, but I won't be returning. The tres leche cake was also disgusting.
MoreThis place is great. We actually went used the drive through so I'm not sure how it is inside. But the food is pretty authentic and good. They gave really good portions too! I had a chimichanga combination and my wife a bean & cheese burrito. Both were excellent and really big. All the ingredients were fresh and prepared very well. Thank you for a wonderful, affordable meal, El Azteca!
MoreThis is our family's favorite Mexican place to eat. The tacos have fried shells to die for. Love the cheese enchiladas. Great salsa bar with pickled carrots. We used to eat at their restaurant by BYU and love it there also. They used to have this wonderful watermelon drink.. The combos come with a drink and tortilla chips and the salsa bar.
MoreAuthentic for Utah! A great deal too
Decent
Fast friendly service, food brought to you after you order at the counter.Delicious.Bueno Gente!
MoreTasty and inexpensive
Always great food. It reminds me of the old restaurant as a kid with the family.
Jean and his team make solid burritos. We actually needed a place to shoot a scene for our feature film and loved the huge Mexican mural they have. We walked in and asked if we could shoot a scene there. They were super cool and let come and film there after hours for free. Great people. Great food. We were actually honored to mention them in our film.
MoreMy favorite Mexican place. It's informal, fast food, but very good, very authentic. My first choice for a casual lunch.
Moregood experience, we like to go on Tuesday to get discounted taco's
Better than decent
The chimichanga was really good - loaded with fillings and topped with sour cream and guacamole. Definitely recommend.
MoreI am obsessed with this place. The bean and cheese nachos are from a different planet. They melt your face off with goodness. The people who work there always smile and the prices are SO affordable!
MoreThe food and customer area is average at best. We continue to visit every year hoping to find improvement, always disappointed. El Azteca use to be the Gold Standard, not sure what happened.
MoreSorry but I won't be returning to eat here ever again. The owner is in the stake presidency and I don't agree with his position in the lds church because when I stopped by to see if he could sponsor my daughter he was a total jerk about it. He came out with an attitude sent me to my car to get proof that I needed sponsorship and when I came back in he went and his in the back and wouldn't come out. And told his waitress at the front that he was busy and that he would call me when he wasn't busy.. Who does that even the waitress shook her head very disappointing I've been eating here since I was a kid never returning to support him by buying is his tiny plates of food.
MoreAlways loved El Azteca, I will miss it now that they are closed. They were seriously the best Mexican place in Orem!
MoreGreat place for Mexican food
Huge dishes for inexpensive prices. Could have better salsa though
Great customer service. They let us in at 10, even thought there actual hours are from 11. Food was average. Nothing spicy! Maybe good for the locals, not a place i would recommend for tourists or people who like it spicy.
MoreSolid place to go. Owner is super friendly and I appreciate the salsa bar. The chips were good and I walked away stuffed. I ordered the carnitas burrito and while it was good and filling I can't say it was the best Carnitas I have ever had. But, because customer service is so good, I will gladly eat here again :)
MoreGreat food
It was done perfectly. I was able to ask them for a specific order and that is what I got! 😎😎😎😎
